On Thursday, May 8, 2014 I was honored with my first Best of Show award for my painting, "Vespers."  It will be on exhibit with the West Virginia Watercolor Society's Aqueous 2014 Juried Exhibition through the month of May at the Loft Gallery on the third floor of the Wheeling Artisan Center, 1400 Main Street, Wheeling, West Virginia.  It's a great show in a beautiful gallery.

Christmas Inukshuk

A new acquaintance recently told me about the custom of native arctic people who build stone cairns called inuksuit (plural), usually in the shape of people, to let other travelers know that they were there.  I have a newfound affinity for painting rocks and so this seemed "right up my alley."  This is my Christmas Inukshuk, painted to let you know that I was here and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

This is one of my newest pieces.  It will be on exhibit, along with 16 others, at the Art Around Town Gallery in Wheeling, WV during the month of November, 2013.

This piece was recently included in West Virginia Watercolor Society's Aqueous 2013 Exhibit in Morgantown.   I think it has a very industrial feel.

Nautilus

Nautilus (and Vein of Gold, posted earlier) have been accepted for inclusion in Tamarack's Best of West Virginia Exhibit.

The exhibit will open June 16 and run through August 2, 2013.  I hope you'll stop in and take a look if you're in the area this summer.  West Virginia is home to an abundance of gifted artists and craftspeople.  I am honored to hang my work alongside theirs.

it it's title, taken from a favorite song of his.

Crosscurrents 2013 Exhibit at the Stifel
Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, WV.  See
it there through April.

Cosmic Rubble

Cosmic Rubble will be on display at the Randolph County Community Arts Association in Elkins, WV until November 17, 2012.  It was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Forest Festival Juried Exhibition.
