Somehow I always come back to the cairns.  This one really captured my mood that day.  It's on exhibit at Crosscurrents 2019 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, WV through June 21 where it earned an Honorable Mention.

This is the latest in my cairn series - number eleven...I continue to find fascination with rocks and as I create my imaginary stacks, sometimes it's fun to "defy gravity"...or at least tempt it a little.

"Father and Son" Earns Best of Show

Rain Forest

"Rain Forest" is on display through August at the Parkersburg Art Center as part of their 2017 regional exhibition.  The theme this year is "wild" so I pulled out all my bright colors and created an abstract based on the wild things that might live and grow in the tropics.  Quite a departure from my somber and mysterious paintings of late, but SO much fun!

"Cairn V - I Was Here" selected for AWS 150th Exhibition

I was notified earlier this month that "Cairn V" has been selected for inclusion in the American Watercolor Society's 150th Annual International Exhibition this coming April in New York.  What an honor!  Learn more about AWS on their website americanwatercolorsociety.org.
